Pacifc Lumber & Shipping works closely with its customers, suppliers and transportation partners to adjust to evolving markets. Change is the only constant in our industry and PLS strives to continually respond to change and to proactively anticipate new opportunities with our partners.
Log Marketing
PLS has log yard operations throughout the Pacific Northwest. Log markets include Japan, South Korea, China, Taiwan, Vietnam and India. Our facilities have de-barking capabilities to meet phyto-sanitary requirements of the importing countries. We also import logs from Canada to the U.S. for our domestic sawmill customers.
Log Purchasing
PLS purchases a wide variety of log species and qualities for its diverse customer base. We purchase standing timber, delivered logs and with Port Blakely Tree Farms, purchase land and timber. PLS works closely with our timber suppliers to ensure a consistent, fair and equitable log purchasing program.
Lumber and Panel Products Marketing
PLS exports lumber and panel products from North America to Asia, Europe and the Middle East and imports panel products from Asia to North America. A wide range of species and finished sizes are available.
Bulk and Container Freight
PLS offers all of its log and lumber products delivered by bulk or container ship to the destination country. We charter full and partial bulk ships and have contracts with all of the major container ship companies to provide the ultimate in flexibility and timing of shipments for our customers.
