Port Blakely Communities not only sponsors several youth athletic teams in our communities, but some of the employees also coach the teams!
Testimonials
"If they [the residents] put as much care in the community that they are now going to reside in, that reflected as much care and concern that the people who developed it, it will be as near perfect a community as you're ever going to see."
- Ron Sims, King County Executive on Issaquah Highlands
"...after working with Port Blakely [Communities] for three years on the Issaquah Highlands project, I have come to appreciate them as one of the most professional and innovative developers in the country. Our work is national in scale and I come in contact with many projects and developers. I can testify in an unqualified manner that PB is one of the best I have ever worked with; they are open-minded, honest, responsive, and very capable - a rare combination."
- Peter Calthorpe, Urban-planning architect
"We were in our house for only 10 minutes, and our neighbors from across the alley presented us with a big bottle of wine and welcomed us with open arms. And then our friends from across the street came over with warm cookies, saying 'welcome to the neighborhood.' I've never experienced that - ever."
- Renee Zimmerman, resident of Issaquah Highlands
"You could just tell it is a real neighborhood. When we were looking at the house, people were walking by with their dogs and their strollers. That's what I want for us, that's what we want for our kids."
- Stephanie Beares, resident of Issaquah Highlands
"Port Blakely Communities has allowed King County to salvage thousands of plants and in turn save tens of thousands of dollars. Thank you again for maintaining the public-private partnership that we have created."
- Cynthia Young, Manager, King County Native Plant Salvage Program
"The City would like to extend our deepest appreciation for Port Blakely Communities' support on the Issaquah Creek channel improvements in terms of supplying 'large woody debris' (LWD) for the projects. We particularly appreciated the support and patience of Rod Johnston and his construction staff in securing, temporarily storing, and moving the LWD. These efforts reflect the public/private partnership that helps us achieve our goals and vision for the City of Issaquah."
- Ava Frisinger, Mayor, City of Issaquah
"Thank you for your continued efforts regarding erosion and sedimentation control. The condition of the site, as a whole, has held up well during the greater-than-average rainfall experienced this wet season. I would especially like to call attention to the efforts of Jim Berger and two of your contractors, Bob DeWaard (JR Hayes) and Doug Snyder (Highridge). Their work in the field, 24 hours a day, has been a great asset to the project."
- Mark Keller, Project Engineer, City of Issaquah Major Development Review Team 1999 letter re: Issaquah Highlands construction site
"We applaud the Grand Ridge Limited Partnership and Glacier Ridge Partnership's (proponent) efforts and believe that in years to come our children and grandchildren will do the same. The comprehensive approach, the consistency of result, and the continuity created through the partnership of the city, the county and the proponent are all worthy of special recognition."
- Rowan Hinds, former mayor of Issaquah in an?endorsement of Issaquah Highlands (formerly known as Grand Ridge)
"I wish to express my sincere appreciation for the support that Port Blakely Communities provided the City during the recent loss of our well pump at the Rockaway Beach water system. It is this old-fashioned, small-town value of neighbor helping neighbor that makes Bainbridge Island such a unique and wonderful place to live, work and conduct business.
"Providing water service to over 65 homes, however, is much more than loaning a rake, shovel or lawn mower to your neighbor next door. In this regard, Mr. Scott Sheldon truly went above and beyond the call of duty. I appreciate the fact that you allowed Mr. Sheldon to lend his time and expertise in helping us address this emergency.
"I appreciate the time and energy you and your company spent helping a neighbor in need."
- Darlene Kordonowy, Mayor, City of Bainbridge Island
