A Habit of Environmental Stewardship
A focus on environmental stewardship threads through everything we do at Port Blakely Companies. We’re always looking to work in ways that are both economically and environmentally prudent. This approach will sustain our community, our environment, and our company for generations to come.
At Issaquah Highlands, for instance, Port Blakely Communities created an amenity out of an obligation. We developed a beautiful lake that also happened to collect and clean storm water for fish-bearing streams.
In another case, Port Blakely Tree Farms developed a set of new forest-road construction techniques to help keep silt out of salmon streams. They then shared those innovations with Port Blakely Communities where they were adopted and modified to help preserve water quality during and after construction.
