Port Blakely Communities today announced that Agave Cocina & Tequilas restaurant has opened in the Issaquah Highlands urban village. Located at 1048 NE Park Drive in Issaquah, Agave presents fresh, home-made contemporary Mexican food in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

True to its name, Agave offers a wide selection of fine tequilas. Owner Julian Ramos explains that the restaurant’s name was inspired by the Agave plant, which is the main ingredient for tequila.

“My family is originally from the state of Jalisco, the only state in Mexico where the agave plant grows naturally,” said Ramos. “Handcrafted tequilas and the art of Mexican cooking are part of our heritage. We look forward to sharing this rich legacy with our neighbors in Issaquah.”

Agave’s menu focuses on natural and organic ingredients and includes time-honored Mexican favorites served with a fresh, local twist. Tempting dishes include corn crusted halibut tacos, smoked bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers, masa crusted calamari, and the Marcela grande burger.
