Public Access

We encourage people to use our forests and allow access to parts of our forests for recreation and educational purposes to the extent that neither our company's operations, forest security nor public safety is compromised. In times of high fire risk or strong winds, public access may be restricted.

To ensure safety in the forest, a permitting system to control public access is required. Included in the permit are some conditions, safety messages and warnings of unexpected hazards. Permits for hunting are required and where demand for hunting blocks exceeds availability, a ballot system will operate.

All permit enquiries for North Island forest access are to be directed through the Tauranga office, ph 07 579 5331 and all permit enquiries for South Island access are to be directed through the Timaru office, ph 03 688 2173.
